Hey guys

Just removed the rear wheel from my bike to get a new tire installed today....everything went pretty well, (grunt)....

dumb question.......as I tapped the axle out, the axle spacer on the caliper side dropped to the floor, and I realized that I didn't pay attention to which way it goes back on.....

Does anybody know if the flange on the spacer goes toward the inside (wheel) or outside of the bike?

Thanks

John
John,
my honda book shows an exploded view of rear wheel. they show what they call an axle collar that goes on the rotor side. looks like a step down type bushing. hope that helps.

There is a search option...
I'm sorry....

I didn't mean to be redundant......

I appreciate your help very much..... 8)
Don't feel bad... I am doing this from a motel room while driving a CAGE across the continent and havnt seen my bike for over a month.. poor thing.

It does make one a little impatient Smile
I didn't even realize there was an outer collar until I had pushed the axle through and parts started falling on the floor!! The end of the axle and swing arm were covered in a nice layer of brake dust, road grime, and heaven only knows what else, making it look like it was all one piece. The photo you took that is shown in the archived post is excellent.......it shows EXACTLY how things should be. That will make installation go smoothly I hope.........I have a manual downloaded, complete with photos, but yours is much more detailed.

Thanks again!! Big Grin
