I don't pop the clutch but many times I nail 2nd gear at 25mph and hold on till 5500 rpm.
It doesn't feel like the rear is slipping but my newer rear tire is wearing fast?
5500 rpms is a lot for a goldwing :o

what brand are ur tires?? that may help.

Is your tire wearing in the center or on the edges? Is it wearing smooth, or is it cupping?
If it's cupping, check the tire balance.
If it's wearing on the edges, check your swing arm bearings and wheel bearings.
If it's wearing smooth in the center, check your tire pressure and slow that sucker down!
38 lbs front and rear
perfect wear patterns.
single 90% at 200 lbs
Maybe that sucker is spinning-it doesn't feel like it.
No black marks in front of house.
Sure is fun !

Some tires wear faster then others. Soft compounds are great at gripping, in fact they hold onto the road after the bike is gone. What kind of tires do you have on the rear end?
I have had 3 seasons on my tires, I am going to put elite lll on next season, I still have lots of tread for this year.
I keep elite lll front and rear and replace at 60% wear.
I had a rear blow out on a 76 super glide.

with the weight of a wing and a soft compund tire rears are going to wear out faster. and if you think that blowout on the rear is bad i had mine on the front
