<DIV>I had a similar prob.  You can take the domes off the carbs without removing the whole assembly by taking the down-tubes loose and sliding the assembly from one side to another.  Be sure and remove your gas tank side panels first.  Don't get the domes mixed up.  Hold each with the rounded part in the palm of your hand and blow air into the bottom.  If you feel air hit your hand, you have a leak in the little plastic button on the top of the dome.  The crack can be so small you can't see it but you can usually feel the air.  Sand the little plastic button and the aluminum around it nice and clean.  Mix up a little glob of JB WELD and work it onto the top of the carb dome and make a little cap.  Let it set up overnight and then sand it off nice and round and put some masking tape around the edges of it and spray it with some Wally World antique white cheap enamel.   Once the domes are back on and the carbs in place, you can hardly notice it.  Don't tighten the screws to King Kong level...Just good and snug.  I found that you can make a slide seize up if you get 'em too tight.  Air leaks in the vacuum dome on a CV type carburetor are not good.  This worked for me.....</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>fingerpik</DIV>
