My Ford Cortina is 31 Years now, some 100k miles, blackbox is ok. My VW Polo 1994, 180k miles, ok. GL1000 1976, DYNA III installed around 1997, blackbox still ok after 50k miles.
Many things can fail, what do You do if a coil burns through?
Spare coil with You? Please don't see everything so negative, we have older bikes, it can happen that we need help. Thanks God we don't live in the jungle and everybody has mobile phones nowadays.
Blackboxes can be short-lived but can also last two eternities. It is like everything else, I once was forced to call for help with a wheel bearing suddenly seized and melted(!). What a stength...
CU
Ray
