New to the GL1200 club, hope to gleen lots of good advice from you folks, owner of a 86 Aspencade that has sat for 15 yrs with 18000 miles on it. It will need brake rebuild, tires, lotta engine work, however I have fixed up some GL1000's so this nothing new.

Today (tuesday) wheels off new bearings, seals/tires done. Brake caliphers/master cylinder done carbs almost done going to acid clean the tank tomorrow and will start some reassembly on Monday. Hope to get all the components done first then start on the engine in a couple of weeks deciding on doing a swap or total rebuild comparing cost at this point. Good thing this bike in at my buddys garage my wife doesn't know yet, I must have MBS
Welcome to the site! Great to hear that another GL1200 will be back on the road and well taken care of again. Lots of good folks here, and plenty of good info.

Welcome Bettyboop, this is a great site, if you have any questions just ask.
Another welcome to the site from N.E. Ohio. It is refreshing to see that another 1200 will be rescued rather than parted out on eBay or to the scrap yard. Good luck with the project Dan and let us know how she's coming along!
