First like to say nice site and good info. :YMAPPLAUSE:
I have been lurking for a while and reading up on different info here and there.
I come from a race family back ground starting with ice racing then dirt and to the road tracks and then street.
I started as a mech. went to driving trucks and returned to restoring and riding bikes. Now I build, restore, servce bikes (older bikes) here at home. Used to work at wrecking yards and dealerships (for bikes) but I didn't like there politic's in there shops.
Have three bikes in the stable. A 86 G/W Se-I , 01 Ninji 12 r and a 90 kx 500.
The G/W of course is for the wife and I to get out on.
The 12r is when I need something that moves when I'm feeling it.
The kx500 is when i need to get real stupid and crazey in the dirt.

BTW: I'm 51 years young, not dead !

My opion riding:
I ride a brisk pace. I have a a problem riding the slabs in a straight line with the cruze control on and a cup of coffee in hand. It just flat spots the tires down the center. I like using the whole tire up before replacing them.
Group riding is fine with about 5-6 good riders that can keep a nice brisk pace. I don't drink there for the 20 mile bar hop thing does not get it with me. Nor does the ride for 30 min rides and BS for 2 hours.
If your out to ride ....then ride!

I have been riding big bikes all my life, be it street cruzer, sport bike or dirt. I like them all.

I pick up my 86 G/W SE-I for 750.00
The bike has been well kept and rode very little. Only has 31000 miles on her. I am the second owner as of now.
The only thing it needed was a set of tires (E-3's) and charge the battery. I did a complete tune up on her just for my own info.
There is nothing on the bike that does not work. There's no broken plastic's amd all the chrome is in prefect shape.

I'm sure I may run into a few of you out some where......ride safe folk's

Kurt

Ya, some times you just get lucky on a bike.
The last owner lost his job and was not riding any more so he let the bike sit for awhile before selling. It least he kept it in side and ran some gas stablizer in it. Made for a easy start when I got to servcing her.

Got the pic thing figured out.......thanks Vic. I read your pic. post thread.

I do have a short video that we did on a coast ride along HWY 1 though.
We did the ride with a friend and his wife on a Apllia ST.........
He wife call it a iron butt run of 450 miles, but then again she has a soft rear end.

Hello and and welcome to the site Kurt. I hope you find lots of good info here and I hope you share lots of the good info you have. Can't believe the price you paid for that SEi, lucky guy. :YMAPPLAUSE:
Thanks Vic.
I have read quite a few things here that helped.

I'll see if I can figure out the pic. post thing.

From the looks of it most of the folks here are on the east coast.

Kurt
Welcome, Kurt from the left side of Canada. Though we are outnumbered by Easterners, those of us lucky enough to live on the west side of the continent make many worthwhile contributions. :d Nice video, by the way. We hope to get down to that part of the country in the next few years.
Thanks.
The wife chop it up quite a bit......to much video I suppose.
I like the west coast....Wash. Org. Ca. Just plan great riding every where.

Kurt, correct me if I'm wrong but I see Ca as California
and I think keener is seeing it as Canada.

Ken
