Welcome from sunny Florida too. I think I'd do a timing belt change and flush the cooling system for sure, oil and filter change of course, you may want to bleed all your hydralic lines to insure moisture and debris removal. And maybe a new set of spark plugs. I know the milage is low but time takes a toll on the belts too and it's just not worth the gamble. Where do you hail from? close? or no. good luck you'll love your bike you just can't beat 'em. Joe
welcome from NC

Hello, I am new to the Goldwing club. I have always owned the sport cruisers of the '80s and a few sportbikes. I cant say enough good things about my 1985 Interstate, I always new the were a smooth ride but I have been surprised by the performance (always figured handled like a wet sponge) I can navigate corners, the weight isnt at all a factor and the thing has a bit of punch getting on the highway. No lack of power. I even am diggin the radio!lol. Is there anyone here from Oklahoma or surrounding area? I have tried several times to load a pic on here but I am struggling any suggestions are appreciated, I hope to ride with some of you.
Welcome from Ohio Atlas! I think we have one or two folks from OK here, check out the member location map and drop a pin on it for your location while you're there!

Hello All!

Just bought my first Goldwing a couple of weeks back. It has been 14 years since I last owned a bike. Previous rides were a 1982 Kawasaki 750 LTD, and a 1984 Yamaha Virago 920.

Love riding the Wing. It had 49,500 miles on it when I got it, and it runs well. She is a little worn and blemished here and there, but who isn't anymore?! Just needs a little TLC and a few missing parts, and we'll be as good as new.

This is a great site! I have enjoyed reading the posts, and have already gleaned a lot of good info & tips from the members and moderators. Good job everyone!!!

I too am a newbie (62 yrs. young) purchased a beautiful 84 Aspencade last fall after convincing my wife it was now or never. Haven't ridden serious for at least 35 yrs.
First thing on the agenda was to take some riding courses to get a little settled in. I'm lovin it, why did I wait so long ?? Just glad I did it, good to be back in the saddle. Love the site.
