What Progressive spring number would you use for my 1986 Goldwing Aspencade? I'm going to rebuild them and want to upgrade the springs. Any other suggestions for me while I'm doing this?

Thanks for the help!
A couple of mo ago I tried to find the springs on Progessive's site....no listing for my '87 Aspencade for springs that I could see; They had shocks for around $460.00! Confusedhock:
I picked up a pair of really nice shocks w/ progressives already in them on ebay, not a bad deal $117.00 for the pair. :d
Give Progressive a call, they are pleasant to deal with.
progressive does not list these springs on their website but the replacements)progressive for the stock shocks are available at bikebandit.com, have used two sets of these so far and after rebuilding the stock shocks can't tell the difference from a full blown set of progressives

even better is that you dont have to change out the stock lines or anything, just make sure you use the oem seals ,order new bellows and the top rubber bushings

if when you take the stock shocks apart and the stock rubber rebound bumper is gone(mushy and disintegrated) i used a polyurethane shock bushing from a full size car, just cut a slot in it and slipped it onto the shaft before putting back together, works better than original,10 oz of synthetic atf and its back together

opps almost forgot the bikebandit link

Hey-Ya,

I have a 86' Aspencade but not a "Limited?" anyway the part numbers I used are"

Rear: 416-1641A
Front: 11-1122

The rears were a little tight to put on I think they are .25in longer. The quarter inch is nothing and using the progressive front springs even things out perfectly. The bike rides GREAT with this setup.

I don't know if the Limited uses different shocks or not? I just posting the parts that I had success with?

Good Luck!

I want to thank you all for your help. This site is great!
the LTD/SEI's use a banjo fitting on the rear lines but the aspy shocks will still bolt up to them

while i'm here i need one shock, either aspy or sei to have a rebuildable set
The rear progressives I just got have the # 76-1365B spring,black 1200/ on the box;
On the springs themselves they have in white 1365 120/170. I guess the 120/170 #'s are the rates? Manufactured May 14 2010.

What neoracer (Earl ) said. That is practically verbatum what I did.

Softly, Patrick
Interesting that my #'s are different; :?: I wonder if I have the right springs? Confusedhock:
