went out to bike started it up noticed that there was no headlight tested head light and both high and low worked reinstalled and turn key on and lights came on both hi and low and as soon as i hit the start button bike fired up and lights went out sounded like some kind of relay kicked anyone shed some light on this thank you

My guess is that the problem is in the start switch (kill switch). You can carefully disassemble the switch and clean the contacts.

Welcome to the site.

I'm sure others will have more advice on how to properly inspect and clean the contacts, or offer additional information.

took the kill switch apart and its nice and clean but thanks for the advice and the welcome ill keep looking and if you hear about something else i should ck let me know thanks
it is possible that there is a bad connection in the headlight circuit

did you check the headlight fuse after that?

Guest

i checked the one in the fuse box it was good is there another fuse i should be looking at ?
fuse should be the #6 fuse from the left with you have the fusebox with the accessory terminals

if you can jumper the fan and it works with the key on its not in the ignition switch

next thing is to check the power after it goes thru the start switch,pm me your email address and i;ll send you the schematic and pics on where to follow that, but it might just be easier to pull the headlight back off and see if your getting power to the headlight plug then you can backtrace from there if its not
