Newbie from Grafton, Ontario, Canada
Hi Folks,

I have very recently purchased my first Wing! I have yet to get it home or ride it any distance as it's waiting for some front caliper bushings to pass a safety certification. This place is a wealth of info! I've already ordered an oil filter adapter from Bob H so I can use spin on oil filters. I've also found vendors for a number of upgrades I was hoping to add to my GL1200.

I do have a question for the group: Has anyone used/installed a "SuperBrace" fork brace? http://www.superbrace.com

A good friend of mine who has a GL1500 swears by his and said I should consider it a must have item for my GL1200. Any thoughts? Any other reccomendations?

Welcome to the Site!! No, I haven't got a Superbrace on mine and mine handles good with the occasional shimmy.

Welcome to the site, Scotty, from the other side of the country. You didn't mention what model of 'Wing you have, but if it doesn't have a fork brace, you should certainly add one as soon as you can. They work great.

Welcome to the site Scotty from a couple of hours north west of you.I used to stay in Grafton in the summer when I was a kid.Just west of the Barnum house on the south side of the road my step father built 2 houses on property that was severed from the property that came with the house just a bit farther up the hill. They moved a lot so we also lived in Coburg,Wicklow and Lakeport to name a few.Still have relatives in Coburg and Roseneath.I still try to do a cruise of the area on the bike at least once a summer if not more.I agree with what everyone said about the Superbrace, well worth the money.Don't forget to post some pictures of the new ride.

If you treat your 1200 right, and trust her, she can and will save your butt from a lot of bad scenes. Just believe in her! Mine has several times.
