Changing out the Stero.

Just about any place that sells XM radios carries the Direct Connect modulator. I'm putting one in my bike as we speak. It's a small box about an inch or so square, pull apart the antenna connection (mine is in the left side of the fairing) and plug in the two antenna connectors from the Direct connect. the other wire runs to the XM dock. There is a third "input" to plug in the XM radio antenna (which usually goes on top of the car) but I'm told by a couple locals it is not needed. The Direct Connect (and it's marketed under that name) apparently overrides any incoming signal from the bike's antenna. We'll see how it works in a day or so. This way, I can take the XM from my Expedition and plug it onto the dock on the bike. I superglued the XM dock mount to the left speaker grille, let's hope it stays there. I don't even care that it doesn't work through the headsets, my ride is quiet, and I don't need all that noise in my helmet.
