Possibly that we are happy with the stock unit once an MP3 player or GPS with Mp3 is used.

It isnt the auto volume that is the problem it is the lack of access to the intercom if the stock unit is removed.

my cassette player does not work and have had limited success with the FM transmitter, I ride solo most of the time so an after market intercom would probably suffice when the wife rides. I may look into the inline FM modulator, but still say that an after market stereo will work with the auto volume and amp. I love the concept of the stock unit, but reception sucks, tuning is a pain (will not tune, it scans, stops wherever) and cassette does not work, and i still have a large box of cassettes and a few 8 tracks. I've seen the bulletin for the LTD trip computer recall, but I do not think I can do it, even if parts are still available.
