Starter removal

I just did a starter rebuild for a friend, just as Neoracer said remove floorboard then the left engine guard and lower the header, remove the rear stud and then the starter will come out.
it's a tight fit but just be patient and it will come.

I am just curious what you found in your friends starter.
I am sure the listening (lol) public might be curious as well.
How many miles are on the bike? Is the bike used for short trips (ie, a bunch of starter usage)
How were the brushes? amount of carbon dust? condition of the grease in the gears?
