Need a new cooling fan where can I buy one?

Had 12 volts to the plug, jumped the other side to ground and the fan would not run.

Open Ohm reading on the plug...

Can not seem to find one online? Pretty sure Honda would tell me to take a walk?

There's 2 on ebay right now. Enter "GL1200 cooling fan" in the search box.

Check the wiring for breaks close to the fan

On the "Bikers Best" website in the Netherlands, I found a cooling fan. I don't know if they ship to the US but you could send them an email.

Did you have 12v to the fan switch plug or fan plug???Put a jumper in the fan switch plug and see if you got 12v to the fan plug??[/align]

I was hopping there was a suitable replacement to be had at the auto parts store.

Something off a small car that would work?

I plan to pull the radiator tonight and get my hands on it. Hard to check the wires closely with it in place on the bike. Hope to find something that will work once I get it out and know 100% it is the fan motor.

With the key on I had 12vdc on one side of the fan plug, I then jumped the other side of the plug to ground and the fan did not run. Ohm meter showed open on the back of the plug. I will be able to properly check once I get it out and make sure its not the thermo switch.

Thanks everyone. I hate E-bay, but if I have too, I guess I will go that way...

There are some type fans that will work with modifications.

I have seen wires on the fan break, look closely when you get the fan off. They are sturdy fans.

The ones on Ebay are a lot less money than aftermarket fans.

Is the plug your working with attached to the motor thermo housing or directly from the fan??With the key on unless its hot youll get nothing to the fan!!But the plug on the thermo housing youll get 12v with the switch..11just trying to help!!!!Only if you put a little jumper in the thermo plug if 12v is present then it sends the 12v to the fan....

According to my wiring diagram the fan has +12 vdc on it when the key is on, the thermo switch is switching the - or "ground " side. My meter seems to agree with the prints?

Looks like I won't get to tie into it until the weekend, family obligations...

That is correct

If you have voltage there then it is either a broken wire or the fan is kaput, either way the rad has to be removed.

I see I just jumped the thermo plug to get the fan to run on testing,so its a switched ground thanks
