Possible vacuum leak problem
Based on other posts, I am pretty sure I have a vacuum leak. The bike runs fine and idles at about 1100 when cold, but once it warms up (3 or 4 bars on the temp gauge), it "idles" way too high --- 1600 at the low end up to 2400. So a couple questions. Does this sound like a vacuum leak problem? How can a vacuum leak be detected -- or do I just replace all the vacuum lines? Do I have to pull the carbs to replace the lines?

Five years ago when I first bought my Aspy, it had the same symptoms. New timing belts and synchronizing the carbs solved the issue completely.

Thanks for the tip. I have a CarbTune and will give that a shot first --- much easier job!

My bike sat unused for two years.
While I had the carburetors out for a thorough cleaning, I replaced all the vacuum lines and used safety wire to replace those tiny clamps.
Also check the o rings under the intake manifolds (and the intake bolts for proper tightness) and make sure the intake-to-carburetor clamps are all tight.

I would suggest checking these items BEFORE synchronizing or you might get frustrated.

Good Luck!
