Fork Nut Installation Tool?

I'm too lightweight to stand on the pegs and force the cap on while screwing it into place.

Honda wants $138 for their version of the tool.

Has anyone on this forum built such a tool and had consistent success using it?

Not a tool, but it might be easier to screw the cap on with the leg removed from the fork.
True, that requires removing the legs from the triple trees, and then reinstalling, but given you don't have the bulk to stand on the pegs, push and thread, removing the legs may give you the leverage and control you seek.
Keep in mind, not only do you need to apply more downward force than the springs, you also need to NOT cross thread those fine threads.

My final solution: Build a spring compressor that operates through the fork nut.

Remove the nut, short spring, and washer from the fork.
Drill a 3/8" hole through the nut and tap for pipe plug.
Weld a 5/16" nut on a 5/16" steel fender washer as wide as the original washer.
Use a 12" piece of 5/16" all-thread rod to reach through the nut and spring and screw into the fender washer (nut side down).
Compress the spring and install the assembly into the fork.
Unscrew the rod and the fender washer stays in the fork.
Install a chrome pipe plug in the fork nut.

An extra benefit of this is you don't need to remove the fork nut to change the fork oil. Just remove the front wheel, remove the drain plug, and remove the pipe plug. After the shock is empty, install the drain plug, install the front wheel, and fill the fork through the 3/8" opening in the nut. Install the pipe plug and pressurize.
