Starter issues
sounds like the starter clutch if it wont engage.
Over the years the thing gets gummed up, The hard way to fix is to pull the engine apart, the easy way that most times helps is to add a can of seafoam to the engine oil (remove the same amount of oil prior to adding) run the bike for about 300 miles then do an oil change, this usually does the trick.
Sometimes the problem shows up as starter not disengaging when the starter button is released.
The only stupid questions are the one's that are not asked.
