Hey all! Big Grin
I am happy to rejoin the ranks of Wing owners. I used to have a '78 I bought off the showroom floor. Sold it to get married. Finally, many moons later I have gotten another Wing. I recently purchased an '86 Aspencade. I couldn't be happier. She needs new skins and a bit of TLC as she used to live outdoors Sad but she now has garage. Big Grin

I do have one quick question. On the ride home I raised my arms in elation and the front end started to shake. I took the hands off one more time just to see what would happen and it did it again. I suspect the very worn tires but I'm not sure. Any one who may have experienced this and could give me a little insight would be great.

Again, Thanks for having this forum!!

Hello Bill and Welcome to the forum. The tires would be your first place to start but do not neglect to check the bearing adjustment of the triple tree. It could be possible that a bearing is on its way out. If you can feel slack by pulling up and pushing down on the handlebars while riding slow around the yard and it produces a thumping noise check the bearings, it wouldn't hurt since the bike sat outside.

I'm putting a new set of Dunlop E3's on her Sunday. Big Grin Believe it or not it has rained her every day since I brought her home. Today it stopped for a while so I took her out tonight the shake is not as pronounced at 45 or so as it is at 65 to, ummmm, 77. I did the bearing test several times and got no feelings of looseness. I tried to make it move while on the center stand and couldn't get any movement out of it.

I also am amazed to find (I have been looking at 80's Wings for a while now cause that is what I can afford) that the compressor on my bike actually works. Big Grin

I posted some pics in the gallery that I took with my phone the day I looked at her. I bought her the next day. I'll put some more up after she get a bath and a day at my "beauty parlor."

Thanks again for such a great welcome.

Hello and welcome Warlock. Glad to hear that you're installing new tires. Hopefully that will take care of the wobble. A few other things that can induce a wobble are warped brake rotors, bent rims and out of balance wheels. There is more but hopefully the new tires will take care of the problem.
