Hello to all and Happy New Year!

I am considering purchasing an 85 LTD with about 70K miles. What potential issues should I look for when looking the bike over ....or what questions should be asked? The bike appears to be in great shape.

This is a great site! Smile

Welcome to the Site!! One of the first things to ask the seller is if the timing belt's have been changed and when it was done. Also check to see if the stator connector has been cut out and soldered. While both are important, neither one is a big deal, just something to that will need to be attended to after purchase.

The other things I'd look for is the electronics on the bike (radio, intercom, and so forth) and the suspension air pump.

Good luck with her!!!

Check to see if any of the code lights are lit on the computer. Also ask if the TPS has been replaced recently.

Thanks for the warm welcome.

The condition of the bike "appearance-wise" is very good. The seller mentioned that all service has been performed but I will check on the items mentioned here....thanks for the tips.

If you don't mind my asking, how much is the seller wanting for it?

Hello,
Glad to have you aboard. I ride an 85 Aspencade, and I can say in all truth, I am so happy I bought it, I`m grinning like a jackass eating briars.
I feel that if you look the bike over good, and listen to these people on this site, they will make sure you get the best of advice. Believe me, I know. Have fun, enjoy the ride,
