spark plugs
Has any one tried split fire plugs or any of the multi tip plugs... I run the Bosch plat multi-tip in my Toyota and like them... thought I would check to see if anyone has had good experiences with them.

Thanks

There was a post somewhere , on the GWRRA site about 2 years ago... that stated that all Split fire , Platinum, Ring nosed, and Kryptonite plugs made no difference at all to a Goldwing .... and that they were all a "Hype" and generally a waste of hard earned $$$....

The Wing is lower compression, regular gas , clean flow thru, hot "coils" , and 4 valves per Cylinder engine . Stick to the recommended NKG's, IMHO

I think it will make more difference to select the right heat range of NKG's for your riding style, than using Slpit fires !

My two cents .

thanks 'SilverDave'... I will stick to NKGs... I am not a hard rider so the stock plugs should be ok... I have the right side rear plug gets a bit carboned up when I change them... I am thinking that it might be time for valve guides for the ole girl...
thank you

I have replacement plug I use rather than the NKG which I found never did last the year out, toward the end of the riding season I would always have cylinders misfiring untill the bike warmed up.
I imagine that the mileage I ride would be much passed the manual recommendations as to changing the NGK plug which is 6400km, at that rate I would be going through 3 sets of plugs every year. That is ludicrous.
I have had these AC plugs in for the past two years, I may change them this year. They are ACR12XLS

The only stupid questions are the one's that are not asked.

Ive been using "Autolite's" in my wings (havent changed the 1200's yet)
I never had any issues running a year or more on one set, unlike NGK's
recommended intervals.........

I just put in the NGK Iridium plugs and my baby runs sooooo smooth!! A little more expensive but they are supposed to last up to 4 x the stock NGK's!

I, too, have been running the NGK Iridium plugs for two years now. Very pleased with them.
