Speaker covers ?
Could someone take a picture on how your factory speaker cover attaches.
I’m replacing the P.O. covers which were the delete covers with holes dilled in them.
I need to see what the screw screws into behind the Honda name plate on the bottom corner. The delete cover have a ball and groument like the side covers.
Thanks

If you purchased a new set of speaker panels from Sierra the new ones would have come with the needed hardware.

Honda speaker delete grilles are designed like Honda 1984-only regular speaker grilles. As stated above, Sierra GL1200 speaker grilles come complete with all necessary hardware: two grilles with foam backing surrounds, two clips, two screws, two snap-in emblems. When using Sierra replacement speaker grilles on your 1985 GL1200 with speaker delete, the screw would screw into a plastic clip (item 46 in the diagram above) that clips into the hole. When switching from delete grilles to regular grilles, you remove the grommet and clip the clip into the hole, screw the screw into that, then cover it with the snap-in Honda emblem. The grommets are not reused.

Or you could buy the items you need individually from Honda.

The '84 used a ball and rubber grommet. The later models used the fastener as shown in Trickys blow up and a mounting screw. Still available from Honda.
Little known fact...the grills are also available from Honda for about the same as the Sierra versions. Of course, the hardware is seperate as well as the little Honda badge.

On my 84 I use a small dab of RTV silicone to secure the covers. A blob positioned next to the upper hook does the job quite nicely. Much better than having them pop off with I hit a large bump.

My right one (the one I had to through-bolt with the large flat washer, rubber washers, and nut) is supertight now. If the left one gives me any trouble, I am going to through-bolt it like the right one.
