82 Aspencade (BWITCH) electrical

Anybody fiddled around with the regulator/rectifier ? I have an 82 aspenade an it has been a long time since she has seen the road. I have done a ton of work and the motor runs but the electrical is driving me nuts. I have checked the stator and according to the ohm meter it should be good. How ever the plug was well fried? So i hard wired it into the harness using solders conditions.I have a problem getting the right voltage all the time . I also think that the ignition is bad so that's on the to do list. Checking the rectifier again out of circuit it looks okay. Is this really a good way to check. If winter ever leaves I would like to ride this year.Thanks Warren

Make sure the battery is fully charged and have it load tested then you can start looking, even if it is a new battery.
