Pulse Generators
I have been having some electrical problems on my '84. I've fixed most of them now, but noticed that my pulse generator connector (just in front of the stator connector to the left of the battery) frequently comes loose and I lose all fire to the plugs. A simple re-connect and some wiggling gets it back together. Anyone solder this connection? Like the stator wire repair?

never heard of it but a fix might be to buy a cheap set of "molex" connectors off ebay , actually , if ya got some old computers you already have the parts, they are the power connector for the hardrives, just salvage the male/female connectors and u have an easy fix plus u would easily be able to test later, if necessary..they aren't weather proof but you can fill them with dielectric grease which is close enough

If the problem with it coming apart is just a broken locking tab then you can clean the connection, fill it with dielectric compound and use a good quality electrical tape to hold it all together.

Well, I cut and soldered the connection and the bike runs 1000% better. The only disadvantage is that I'll have to cut the pulse generators and re-solder if I have to change them.

Fortunately it's not too often on an 84 that the pulse generators fail. It's a more frequent occurence on 85-87's although for the most part they are all very reliable.

Electrical tape,??? That would make the bikes top speed only 50 MPH... On the other hand, Duck Tape, would be good for 100 MPH (also known as 100 mile per hour tape)... Back in the day, duck tape was the fix-all cure for just about anthing broken...

Duck tape? Never heard of it but Cambodian Tire does have Duct Tape. Would that work? :d

If it moves and shouldn't use Duct Tape.
If it doesn't move and should use WD40.
If nether of these work C4 is called for.

years ago duct tape and racers tape were two different animals, the duct tape now should not be considered 100 mph tape

nascar still uses a good variation of that and its good to 200 :YMAPPLAUSE: :YMAPPLAUSE:
