Vacuum lines/Compression Test
I have two questions for the guru's here.

1.If I wanted to replace the all the vacuum lines because the bike is 25 years old, where would you suggest I start and where would I get the lines at?

2. If I wanted to a compression test on the motorcycle where would I get a compression guage from?

Thanks

I’m not a guru, but until one of them shows up…You can get the vacuum line at any parts store, but you have to remove the carbs to replace them. As far as a compression test, any automotive style tester will do. Just remember to hold the throttle wide open when you test.

Take a old piece of vacumm line with you when you go to the auto parts store. The line our Wings is metric and most line sold in US stores is SAE. You want a good fit on these hoses!

The shop manual states that compression should be 1,100-1,500 kPa (156-213 psi) with a service limit of 1,000 kPa (142 psi).

I had a heck of a time trying to find an adaptor that would work in my GL1200, so, I hollowed out an old spark plug for the wing and soldered the spark plug base onto a brass fitting on my compression tester, now it works great.
