85 I'state Downshifting
I'm having a problem downshifting my 85 I'state from neutral to 1st gear,
especially when stopping or at a stop.

The clutch seems normal...about an inch before it catches or releases.

I changed the little brass "bushing" in the clutch lever...no difference.

Could it be the master cylinder? Anything else to try?

Thanks in advance,
Don

If you still have the stock clutch line it could be swelling when you depress the clutch lever....

you might try bleeding the clutch and checking to make sure the fluid level is correct

also check to see that you have enough travel on the shift lever, sometimes if you have floorboards they stop you from getting enough travel
