is this normal?

Hi folks,
I have been getting used to having a cb on board my aspy, and have fixed a small problem, thanks to tricky, thanks again tricky. I have another question, I notice after the bike has been sitting for a few days, it takes about 20kms or so, for the cb to become usable, before that, all I get are high pitched squeals when pushing the talk button. after about 20kms the noises slowly disappear, and the cb becomes usable. as the trip progresses after that, it works fine, even after small stops here and there. I appreciate the cbs are getting on a bit now, is this behavior normal? many thanks,
Robbie

no,sounds like there is a problem somewhere
but where you can get it serviced in nz is another story, over here its sierra electronics but i'm sure that it would be cost prohibitive, but them again buying another unit would be even worse during this warmup does the radio play ok?

Robbie Wrote:Hi folks, I wonder if your battery voltage good? just a guess. Taking so long before it becomes usable (CB) might be worth a test to find out.
The only stupid questions are the one's that are not asked.

Yes thanks, I have pulled all the cables, and reconnected them, there has been a problem,
with the main connection being loose, and the cb wouldn't work, until I pushed the plug home. I managed to fix that, and the main connection now fits snugly, and doesn't move. I'm beginning to wonder now, whether a fault remains there, and it might be worth replacing the main wiring..............

in that case u might try cleaning and maybe spreading the conections on the female side of the connector a little, might be a slightly bad ground
always worth a try
