:d Welcome from Sunny, Southern California (I commuted home in a drizzle last night).
I too have an 84I, she is Grey with front fender chrome, trunk rack, saddlebag lid racks, saddle bag rails, engine guards, mud flaps (front and rear) and assorted other shiny stuff!
Original Owner put 104K miles on her before age and his health cause him to stop riding.
Original owners son kept the bike for two years after his Dad passed, then I bought it. (another perspective buyer insulted the memory of the Original Owner when he offer the son 1/2 the asking price)
Two years of spare time, this insightful site, very little $ and I have put another 18K on her.

You will enjoy the ride – both in ownership and in the saddle

-Ride On ~O)
enjoying the view from the saddle....... due mainly to the people and information found within this site

Welcome to the site! I am a few hundred miles south of you, but like you I am impatiently waiting for good weather to return so I can get back on the road.

The lady walking ahead of me sped up so I did too, she began running so I ran too, she screamed so I screamed as well. I never even saw what we were running from.

Hello and welcome aboard from Georgia...just north of Atlanta.

I have an '84 Interstate in dark blue too. Right at 200K miles on her and still going strong.
Remember, No matter where you go...There you are!

Here is where I have ridden my 1984 GL1200I
I completed the lower 48 states in August 2009, riding the whole way with my Dad
