i have a set of headsets but one set has bad speakers. Looking for two 1 1/2" dia. 8 ohm speakers or Where can I find such speakers

Satch, You can try radio shack, I believe i've seen them there. If not in stk, they have catalog sales down to component level. Quickest way I know to get a replacement.

Go to your local TV/radio repair depot found in the yellow pages and look through some of their catalogues, I'm sure they'll have something to work that they can order.

You could try a dollar store and see if you can adapt the speakers from them, I know the wiring is tough to solder but your only out a buck or two if it doesnt work, I think I used them one time.
The only stupid questions are the one's that are not asked.

I agree try an old set of headphones that you have laying around-- The wires are difficult to solder but it can be done using a low watt pencil soldering iron--been there and done it when I repaired a favorite set of headphones yearsssss ago with my walkman- I put a new plug on them when the cord got pulled wrong- I do want to re-emphasize it is tough because the wire is so tiny and it took me a couple of times to get it right but it is possible....good luck

I think that the trick is in using a low low melting point solder. It makes a big difference.
