Fuel pump

My fuel pump is making very loud sound like a lifter that has lost it prime. I have replaced the filter but is still making the knocking sound .
Can fuel pump be repaired ? |

it can be replaced, never heard of anyone repairing one

1984 prelude pump works fine. $ around $50 at auto parts stores

I have seen more than one owner use a micro, electronic fuel pump sold by Mr. Gasket, with good success. At under $60 it isn't a bad second source.
