I'm holding Randakk's master overhaul kit for GL1200's in my hands and I can honestly say that it's one of the best carb kits I've ever come across. Everything about it feels like top notch quality. There's none of that mould flashing that you sometimes see on low dollar import kits.

The o-rings are made of Viton and that is important because they can take the heat much, much better than the materials normally used for o-rings, that translates to less leaks down the road. The parts are separated for each carb by ziplock bags and not just all thrown into a box and squeezed down to distort like I have seen happen in some lesser import kits. All the parts you need for a normal rebuild are in the kit.

No needle valve and seats are supplied but these are normally long wearing items in most GL1200's and don't need replacement but if your's are worn Randakk suggests that you order some from Honda and I agree because the aftermarket units can be finnicky and troublesome. If you need a carb rebuild kit for your GL1200 this is the one I recomend and Randakk even offers very helpfull tips to get the job done on his site. http://www.randakks.com/Carb%20Parts.htm#9B

Look forward to an installed review of this kit very shortly as my carbs just started acting up the other day and now is a good time to put this kit to the full and complete test. Wish me luck.

Per the above question, a GL1200 Carb Overhaul Booklet is under development. Should be ready mid-summer (I hope).

I have a friend with a masters degree in mech engineering and a bachelor in music and he commented the other day that almost every book in his library was "For Dummies", or "for the Complete Idiot". I found that interesting.

I don't have much need for the "dummies" book, but I would be interested in a "complete idiots" manual. Why do anything half way?
