Corbin and Road sofa seat
Does anybody know why Corbin and Saddleman Road Sofa seats are only listed to fit 84, 85 and 86 1200's and not 87's. I'm wanting to upgrade to one of those, but they neither one list 87's. I thought all years of 1200 seats were interchangeable.

so would I, 85 & 87 share the same part number for the seat so I would imagine they would be the same

The only stupid questions are the one's that are not asked.

Part numbers are a great way to verify fitment, but they are not always 100%.
Case in point, a current project I am working is a 1994 Honda Elite Scooter (CH80).
The scooter was made from 1985 through 2007 with very little changing during those years.
The part numbers for the front brake backing plate are not consecutive because of a color change.
A silver version and a white version were both used, but it is the same mechanical part!

Another example is the headlight.
1985 through 2002 (I believe) the headlight was a sealed beam.
In 2003, the design went to a headlight housing/bulb element design, like the present cars.
Again, different part numbers but mechanically interchangeable.

So, just because the part numbers do not match, that doesn’t mean the part is not mechanically interchangeable.

Just some food for thought.

enjoying the view from the saddle....... due mainly to the people and information found within this site
