New fork seals leaking

Just replaced the fork seals on my 1986 Aspencade.
Seem to work just fine with air suspension under pressure. Tried bleeding off the air to zero to lower the bike a little and noticed a drop of oil on the dust seal. Does this mean the seal isn't working properly, or do I have to use the air suspension? By the way I used the standard springs and 11 ozs of 15 wt fork oil. Thanks Bob |

There shouldnt be any oil on the seal, hopefully they were put in the correct direction.
It shouldnt make any difference if there is air or not except for the ride
The only stupid questions are the one's that are not asked.

Thanks Tricky,
I'm pretty sure they were put in right, The inner double lip was down the lettering was up. Maybe the inner fork tube is bent, it looks all right but I'll check it out. |
