How Much Oil in Front Forks?
I still have not been able to unpack from the move and need to replace my front fork seals. I have everything and seem to remember something like 10.8 oz in right side and 10.9 oz in left fork of atf fluid. Is this the correct amount?

Honda service list ATF capacity (after draining) 323cc (10.9 ounces) per fork. Install and tighten the cap plug to 23 N.m (17 ft-lb) and refill with air at 0 - 6 psi.

Nothing noted in the manual about different amounts for different forks both get the same amount.

I used 15 weight Belray fork oil
The only stupid questions are the one's that are not asked.

just remember.... if you have progressive springs it will take less oil as the springs are thicker
If you have not done front forks before, the cap will fly off with great alacrity and smack you in the face if you are not careful. putting it back on is a real b!tch as well. What I did, was take a 2x4... drill out a hole for my socket extentsion to fit and then have a helper appply downward pressure on the 2x4 while I ingaged the cap into the threads

Thanks guys.

Over the course of 55 years, (22 as a police officer), I have found that 2X4s come in quite handy in applying pressure in a great number of circumstances, not the least of which is motorcycles.......

Be aware that if you are using the Clymer manual as your installation guide that manual has you installing the seals wrong. Install the seals with the double lips at the bottom for correct installation.
