Calipers: putting pistons back in caliper
Well, I ruined a set of rings because I forced the piston back in with a "C" clamp. So, any tipes on how to put the piston back in correctly??
Help is greatly appreciated !

Coat the seals with silicone grease or brake fluid before assembly.

Install the pistons with the dished ends toward the pads. Then install the dust seals.
The only stupid questions are the one's that are not asked.

I see you did a little more explaining on the GWRRA board.

You put the top dust seals in AFTER the pistons are in position.

Well, I cleaned out the grooves with a pick, then buffed them out with a Dremel tool and a 3m wheel buffer. After lubing the seals, the piston went in quite easily.

YIKES!!! Confusedhock: I personally would never use a 3m pad on any brake parts . I used this method with great success & never had a problem & yes it`s on a GL1000 caliper but you get the picture (scroll a little more than 1/2 way done to get it) http://www.nakedgoldwings.com/forum/vie ... php?t=2717
