Fork Brace

I recently replaced the front wheel bearings and tire on the '85 Interstate. I'm VERY fortunate to have a 30 year Honda tech/owner as a "friendly acquaintance" and am on the inside track for whatever "pearls" he sends my way. Here's one.
If you ever have the front wheel off (tires, bearings, fork seals, etc) there is a re-assembly procedure to follow that isn't in the manual.
While reinstalling the components you've repaired/replaced, loosen the fork brace. Tighten the axle clamps. THEN re-tighten the fork brace.
Over a period of time, the front suspension shifts. Tightening the axle clamps FIRST assures your forks are properly aligned, and your fork brace will be too.
