Rear Suspension
Ideas needed ,On my sei ,with a champion sidecar, its fine solo ,but when I put a pillion on ,it really drags its bum,it has no air leaks and runs about 90psi in the back as set automatically,it never used to do this so why is it happening now, rgds graham in Oztralia

Happy,
I'll bet you a dollar your alignments out of whack.
your 2 rear tires are toe-d out causing drag or more than likely toe-d in causing a squat condition....
Look to see if your sidecar tire is starting to feather........ Confusedhock:

sorry harry ,i will take the dollar-us of course-I should tell you I am 62 and been in sidecars since the sixties, the bike just sits to low with two, does the bike rely entirely pressure or does it have a level valve like the benz,so it stays level regardless of the weight, has anybody replaced air shocks with conventional shocks, rgds happy

Happy,
It should have a level sensor on the rear suspension to allow for adjustment changes under loading. (you got me with the word pillion)!
I keep forgeting what that word is/was used for (passenger?) also thought maybe you just installed the side car...... :?

thanks Harry,I nailed it,the level gauge indicates it holds pressure, put a tyre gauge on it and it does not hold pressure, so I will try new seals rgds graham inoztralia

I had beefed mine up with progressive rebuilds when I added the sidecar
78 GL1000 (original owner), 86 1200 with motorvation sidecar (wife's), 05 Road King, and 75 frame and lots of parts

Hello,

Anyone have a parts list, ie: seals o-rings, bushings etc.. for the Progressive rear shock rebuild including spring p/n

just did the front, Iam looking forward to doing the rears. I hope I am not expecting too much.

Thanks

Westwing

progressive rebuilds include a new inner spring/piston (stronger than oem) and the rest of the seals for a general rebuild
