Forks Sticking
I have a question about the front forks on my '84 Aspy. Recently they have been "sticking". For example when I come to a stop, they will dive about an inch and stck there. If I back up and hit the brake, they will stick about an inch up. The shop says seals but I am not showing any leakage at all. Do I still need to have the seals replaced? It has not affected riding as they don't stick unless I am stopped, and it takes just a slight lean to get them to drop or raise. Any thoughts?

My bike does this as well. I don't really believe it to be a problem and wouldn't go through the seal replacement without some seeping or leaking just to cure it.

If I had to take a guess I'd say it's probably not the seals fault but probably more a bushing inside the fork tube. I reckon the seals could get dry enough but still don't think they have enough friction to hold the front end in a stable position.
