New Air Shocks vs Progresive 412's

Although my stock shocks hold air pressure it doesn't seem much different wheteher they are on lower bars or at reccommended setting. Usually travel one up anyone have any experience with using the 412's over the 416's. It would seem that the 412 would be a pain to readjust settings anyone use the 412's....also plan on changing out the front springs at same time....my ride is a 87 Aspy with ME880's
