fork oil question
I replaced my fork seals,

I used 10 weight fork oil and the forks feel way too firm for me.
Is 10 weight too heavy?

Thanks
Jim

10w fork oil or Dextron ATF is what the manual calls for Jim. What you might be experiencing is just how the suspension is supposed to react or the TRAC settings might be too stiff. Mines set at 2.

Agreed, 10w is just about what ATF is.

I use 15W Belray and Progressive springs with very little air and the feel fine to me.
I weigh in at 185lbs and keep my tire pressure at 34 which is 2 lbs higher than what the manual calls for but a lot softer than what heavier people set it at.
The only stupid questions are the one's that are not asked.

I bet I just got used to the soft ride from the lack of oil in the forks before.
There was only about 3 oz. in esch side.

rode like a cadillac though
