Sloppy side stand
While doing some winter maintenance decided to address a problem I noticed during last summer, mainly too much slop in the side stand. After taking off the spring and removing the side stand bolt I've found the problem is in the hole in the lower frame is wobbled out (enlarged), the bolt and stand itself seems fine . Anyone else addressed this problem, ideas to correct the problem ? Thanks

The bolt diameter is .470 the hole in the frame currently measures .500 thickness of frame is .710 Any help would be greatly appreciated. Smile I don't know anyone that works in a machine shop so I know they would want a bunch to make one. I know it sounds simple enough but so is flying an airplane if you know how.

Mine gets sloppy after a while, I think the bolt loosens off and then the tangs open up. I just close up the tangs then tighten the bolt then the nut at the back.
Your case may be different of course maybe lack of lube over the years.
The only stupid questions are the one's that are not asked.

I think tricky is probably right, just that mine was sloppy for so long it wore the hole in the frame. Bob has an excellent point think i'll try a good stainl;ess 1/2 bolt with lock tite after I drill out the kickstand. Thanks guys !

You may want to consider a good Grade 8 bolt instead of stainless. Depending on the grade stainless can be brittle.
Just a thought

Thanks all for suggestions. Drilled everything out to 1/2 " used grade 8 bolt and slef-locking nut,it's all good. Lubed it well.
