Broken tail light lens
Has anyone ever tried to repair a broken tail light lens?
I broke the tail light lens that’s mounted to the trunk. I was boarded, just sitting around here with my hand in this silly cast (it’s healing nicely) so I went out to the barn. I made the mistake of trying to move the bike, but was able to get total control of the situation and the bike ended up rolling backwards into the welder. It punched a nice size hole in it. I see a couple on ebay, but I thought I would try and see if something can be done with if first. I do have some time on my hands (no pun intended).

I've had some luck gluing plastic lenses with PVC Plastic Pipe glue and then running a small bead of clear silicone around the seam on the inside of the lens. I have some ABS Plastic that is broken and I just bought a plastic welder and some plastic rods and going to give that a shot.

I have used CA glue with great success... Just about any hobby store has it... It comes in three viscosities (thin, med, and thick)... I find the med to be the easiest to use... The thin stuff is thinner than water and tends to go where it's not wanted pretty quickly...

I had a broken lens on my bike trailer, I repaired it with weld bond glue and it is still holding 3 years later.
Ride safe have fun and enjoy. Lane
