Speakers?

Are the dash speakers just standard 4" speakers? Everytime I hit a bump they fade out and back in with the next bump so I am thinking that maybe I need to upgrade to newer speakers. Are they hard to replace?

Remove your radio and carefully open the contacts. I find that they tend to loosen up over time. See if that helps.
The speakers are a standard 4" but some of the newer speakers have a dome tweeter that prevents the stock cover from fitting. I think Panasonic have a model that will fit.
The only stupid questions are the one's that are not asked.

Tom I would also try checking the mute switch on the handle bar. I've seen that switch cause similar problems.

Yes, I was thinking that the other day that my fairing speakers a rattling and wondering where to get new ones. The ones I have now where in the bike when I got it new, and they must have better material in them now to be able to withstand the weather. I am hoping that I can get a duo cone in that size as well. So if anyone has the know for up here in Ont. Canada, it be very much appreciated. Thanks.
Thanks all. Old Hawkeye

Good old Canadian Tire will have several different speakers to fit your bike in various price ranges.
