Radio crackles
Usually happens when I hit a hard bump or wiggle the radio up and down. Checked the wiring on the speakers and have replaced them and the main amp. I have a fm modulator than plugs in the cigarette ligher and the sound comes through one of the off stations and it crackles then too. My mechanic said it's probably a bad radio. Any suggestions?

If you've got the stock radio, try pulling the radio and checking the connecter at the back. If the contact's look good I'd suggest use a pick to slightly bend the contact springs up a touch, BUT be VERY gentle while doing this as you can damage them easely!

Good luck with her!

I pulled mine before making my original post and the spring contact's are located on the back of the radio. I've got the Type III and I believe you've got the Type II but I believe the connector is nearly the same.

I had a simular problem. I took the radio out put some dielectric greese on the contacts with good results. Good luck
