I wondered about the smear thing too, but trusted these guys... Bought a can, fixed the tiny scratches in the windshield and paint, the windshield's as clear as a bell, just took it out after dark....nice!

Bob, did you mention ammonia based window cleaner on acrylic?

Ammonia on acrylic is an absolute no no.

Works good to clear your sinuses though.
