LTD lower fairings on an Aspencade?
Do the lower fairings on the GL1200LTD have housings for driving lights (right down by the engine guards)? Will a LTD fairing fit on a GL1200A? I'm thinking of having the 1200A repainted in the near future. If I could swap out the lower fairings at the same time to add the driving lights, that would be the time to do it.

ltd/sei lowers are a direct bolt-on but the lights are considered cornering lamps, they can be wired to work as "driving" lights but for nioghtime are more cosmetic than actually driving lights, bolton driving lights can be fitted if you purchase the markland driving or fog lights conversion kits shown on this website

but if you dont have the poorboy you'll probably have to use the 35w bulbs

The Ltd/SEi lowers are not a direct bolt on. Some of the mounting points are different. Poorboy

my only experience is with an 87 aspy that already had them and my ltd and sei too,so maybe poorboy is right since he's probably more familiar with earlier aspy models

I have them on my '87 Aspencade, they are cornering lamps; The lamps are on an angle facing the curbs...they turn on with the turn signals to illuminate the corners at night. A lot of riders have used this spot for driving lights, but, you need to face them toward the front to get a proper beam where you need it. 8)
BTW, my lowers w/ the lamps are stock. It was an option on the '87 to have the cornering lamps.

the cornering lights wired fulltime are fairly good for the cager visibility but for nightime are great for lightning up curbs and ditches at night
