Progressive rear shock question

I got my shocks and springs in the mail and went to the site i found on here with the great pictures of the rebuild and am using that as a guide for installing the srpings. (there isnt a shop anywhere that will touch that near here). I am at the point where i have blown the seals out the bottom, built the compression tool, have the shock compressed. Unlike in the rebuild post with photos being new shocks i guess, the top end just popped right up when i compressed the shock. It takes a 21 mm wrench on the bold and a big adjustable on the top end but i cant get it to brake loose? Does it unscrew counterclockwise like i think it should? Also just curious, when i look into the shock there are copper colored springs like the ones i had to order with the shock. What type springs come with the shock. I ordered them from bike bandit but all site where i found the 416's said you had to order the srpings seperate so i know i needed them. any help would be great.
